Modern Day Atomic Appocalypse

submarine battle in the middle of the pacific. !!!! and @@@@ are heading straight for each other. there's a breach on !!!! sub and the infiltrator fires the warhead. this creates the domino effect and causes @@@@ to fire there's in retaliation. i survive with a few in my crew. we were able to submerge the sub 15 feet under the water, that was the best we could. we swim to the top of the ocean. its dead silent. eerie silent. theres a hazy feeling in the air. and it seems a bit smoggier than normal, especially since we in the middle of the ocean. the water is completely dead. no current, no waves, no clouds. only the sun beaming and reflecting off the sheen water.i look for my crew and theres only 5 of us. we swim to what looks like the west. after about several hours of swimming we reach a shore of a jungle. we look towards the horizon and the east. and we see the mushroom cloud emerge from our sub as it was attacked by @@@@ war head. so it has begun. we hear the roar of the power the bomb has being concussed we were thrown against the rocky side of the shore. i awake with the sun beaming directly overhead, there is no shade at al. its noon. i look and the water has gone into a frenzy with whirl pools as far as the eye can see. we climb up the rocky hill side. the haze has grown stronger, my breathe feels raspy and dry. is it the effects of nuclear poison? or am i just dehydrated from the swim and being scorched by the sun. as we climb up the rocks my boot slips and i catch my self. im still close to water and i can see the waters going frantic waves crashing against each other like two rams asserting their dominance. that cant be good. at all. i tell my group to hurry to higher ground. i hear a catastrophic boom that shook the ground. followed by a large, long, and very powerful gust of wind. another one has gone off. this is it the end of humanity as we know it. we wont have enough time to evolve again from bacteria if were all wipe out. the sun wont last that long. we traverse the jungle. its so humid and hazy, wet. it is dead silent. where are the animals? the birds, tigers, frogs, snakes, boars, mosquito. we keep walking and we begin to hear people chattering and yelling for help. we take cover and sneak to the open space. there's a bunker with a tank right outside the entrance. people where flailing screaming frantically, tripping over debris, some huddled in a corner praying, others ready to end it-POP- all...what the hell is going on. we hear radios chatter. it sounds angry and loud,i sit down and look back at my men. the look terrified but dont say a word. neither do i. i try. but nothing. i dont know if its physical or mental that i cannot speak. i try to whisper, nothing. i mouth that well be ok and then nod. i turn over to see and everyone has disappeared. what the hell? i hear a whistling and a roar. i look up and see fire coming from the sky.im able to scream and begin to run for the bunker as fast at 23 MPH kicking back dirt. i dont know if they followed me or not. i dive in the concrete bunker covered with moss, turn a corner to my left then one to the right i enter a room and close the steel door behind me as soon as i hear it latch i hear a loud noise then-. Fin.

Good bye Lilly

as i lay resting on my single twin bed. the door is open and so is the window. a slight breeze knocks the shades together making them clap with each other. the sun has been set for 5 hours in this november. I'm under the covers feeling the insulation from my own body keeping me warm. my bed is against the wall, so i roll over and feel the freezing wall on my clothed shoulder. i roll back to the other edge facing the wall and black out. I'm awaken by a presence in the room. its not my brother but that of a 2 foot long and 13 pound shadow with green eyes sitting in the middle of my 12x by 8 room.i think nothing of it since i could feel the melanopsin flowing through my blood and found it difficult to open my eyes. with my closed eyes i can sense the creature still in the center of the room. suddenly it jumps from the center of my room to the space that's left on my bed. i can feel its weight inches from me. i felt a cold wet sensation on my cheek. i felt at ease as if i knew the creature. the creature lays cuddled next to my chest with its "head" closer to my chest. i hear a purring coming from the presences. with my right eye open i slowly reach with my right hand and begin to pet the cat. she lets out a soft and modest meow as i gently stroke her back and feeling her soft fur. she lifts her head presses her nose on my cheek on again, gives me a quick lick, and a gentle bite on the cheek. not even startling i look into the green eyes of the cat, whose fur color turned out to be gray with a hint of orange. we make eye contact, she lets out a somber meow and jumps off the bed. i turn on my back and watch her land in the center of my room where she had first appeared. she sat facing me, once again letting out a somber meow, she then turns and trots out of the room.
I jump as if something has snapped me out of my sleep. as if my body is jerk from its slumber. the air felt heavy, and i feel a presence in my room. i check the time on my phone that is under my pillow it was 11:30.i get up and explore my home searching for the cat, i wonder if it was just a dream or if a cat infiltrated our place looking for shelter. to no avail, i return to bed as if nothing has had happened.the next day my intuitoin was on high alert.as i was running my errands, received a message 12 hours later: " Lilly, my cat, passes away last night at 11:15 pm."

Life slowly sucked out

laying in bed sleeping. resting, relaxing, recuperating. suddenly awaken by a sense or someones presence, my spidey senses were tingling. i feel pressure on my back puling my towards the wall that my bed is beside. i send neurotic signals to my neck muscles to make it turn, but to no avail. send signals to my vocal cords to let out a voice but only silence. seeing my roommate lie there innocently. i call his name, but its only heard in my subconscious. i plead for help, crying out in pain, feeling colder by the second. silence. my body twitches for one final escape. arms stretched out each limb parallel to each other. i feel my eyes slowly closing. i feel like someone is pulling me against the wall, more and more they close! i feel the end coming soon. suddenly a twitch and i lie on my back. a hallucination of the unconscious state! i am saved. no pulling sensation, i whisper "hello" once again my vocal cords work. i am safe. i am awake lying on my back, not moving but feeling my blood pressure is high, as my pulse. breathing synchronized with my heart beats. i feel and itch on my face. i reach to scratch it. my arm fails to move. what is this? am i not awake? try to kick off the blankets, but to no avail. not even a single twitch from my toes. i began to feel cold, and i hear a whisper " surprise" it comes from the wall i move my eyes and see-
